We welcome corporate involvement in any form or manner, as long as the effort is towards improving the quality of education in the public schools. For any social intervention to be successful, it has to be a sustained effort both in terms of finance and human resources. Regarding the former, we have different programmes and initiatives for which corporate sponsorship would be gratefully welcomed. As for the latter, we can provide the necessary human resources and structure to make sure that the effort put in will have the desired impact. At the same time, we realise that there is a need for active engagement from our corporate partners—and we provide various avenues for that, from engagement in school activities on a weekly basis to engagement in a once-a-year programme.
We suggest that the best way to get involved is to first nurture a few schools and then decide, in consultation with us, on how you can engage periodically in those schools and their activities. Even though we say that school allocation to a particular donor is a notional one, we still try to accommodate the needs of the employees to maximise their involvement.
