I felt like spending some of my spare time on a socially useful activity. And I picked primary education because I see it as a noble goal in itself and for the economy.
Doing odd jobs for an NGO is not as hard as it seems!
I had some time to spare over weekends and wanted to do something productive. Back at my office, we have a social wing which used to interact with govt. schools and donate textbooks and uniforms. But I wanted to get down to feel the ground reality more and hence started spending some spare time with Sikshana.
Initially, I assumed that its going to be a high responsible, demanding job. But it turned out to be very easy to contribute. No hassles if you are not available. No worries, if you have other engagements and still you could contribute to the ongoing efforts.

Always wanted to give back to society in my spare time, in my own limited capacity.
Making a difference at the level of an individual is a rewarding experience for me; I see volunteering at Sikshana as an opportunity in this direction.

I have been wanting to contribute to the society in some form. I was interested in taking the knowledge I have to the government schools. In particular, I was interested in making computers more reachable and make more people use them in an efficient way.
I learnt Sikshana as an organization is making efforts towards this.
Hence, I've volunteered myself to Sikshana and contribute as much as
possilble. There is no binding at Sikshana. In a way, if you are unable to
make it that week, there is no problem. I am still able to contribute
amidst my other commitments.
